A Women’s Off-Road Training Day will take place at Stony Creek on October 22.
When: Saturday, October 22, 2016
Where: Stony Creek, South Gippsland (not far off the South Gippsland Highway)
Time: 9am – 4pm (please be ready for a 9am start)
Cost: $130.00 (with MV licence only $105.00)
Coaches: – Peter Boyle
– Brad Snell
– Chris Perry
Assistant Coach: Emma Broadbent
Event Manager & Coach: Phoebe Snell
What type of riding is it?
The coaching will take place at Peter Boyle’s private property where we will have a motocross track, enduro track, extreme enduro track, PeeWee track and an Open track.
The coaching day will be for all types of riders; from those never haven ridden before to the MX or enduro racer or for those riders who haven’t ridden in sand – it doesn’t matter who you are, we’re here to cater for you!
What if you haven’t ridden before?
If you haven’t ridden before it’s perfectly fine! That’s what the day is all about. If we find you are having trouble we will put you aside for some one-on-one training.
How are you structuring the day?
We would love you to be on your bikes and ready to go at 9am. When you register for the day I will ask you a few questions to put you in the appropriate group.
We will be putting you into groups with a coach and we will constantly access you throughout the day to see if we can put you into another group.
Sign-in is before 9am I will be prepared and ready to go for you. I will hand you your goodie bag, let you know where to get ready for your coach, and tell you what group you’re in and who your coach is.
First break will be at 11am or just after if we are running behind for 15 to 20 minutes.
Second break will be at 1pm or just after if we are running behind for 30 minutes.
Last break will depend on how we are going.
To finish the day off we will have a fun game with you all and a group photo, of course.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We will be running the day rain, hail or shine BUT if it is too extreme (i.e. if it is too hot or extremely wet) then we may call it off.
Do you need a licence or registered bike?
No, you do not need either as we have permits to run this event and will be on a private property.
Please note: If you do not have a Motorcycling Victoria Competition/Recreational Licence it will be covered in the $130 and on the day I will get you to sign for a day licence.
Is there a canteen?
There is no canteen but we will be putting on a sausage sizzle for lunch and all funds will be donated to a nominated charity organisation of our choosing – the Gippsland Period Project.
There will also be bottled water. There is a town 5 minutes down the road called Meeniyan. It’s lovely and definitely a town to support.
What do I bring?
You will need to bring a STAND, as you will be needing it in the morning for one of the first lessons.
Your bike, correct protective gear, tools, fuel, cash for food, water, extra food (if required).
Your partner, family member or friends are more than welcome to come and watch or even help out.
Children are welcome to come but please keep an eye on them as they are not my or the coaches responsibility.
Family, friends or partners. Non-participants are not insured for the day so if you are helping out there will be minimal riding as we don’t want any accidents.
If there is any silly behavior I will not tolerate it, for those who know me, do know that I will send you home if there is.
We are a team, we want the best possible day for everyone to remember.
No alcohol or drugs
What is the cost covering?
The cost is covering your MV day licence, a light snack, track fees, permits, the amazing coaches, and some funds will also be going into fundraising a good cause which is Gippsland Period Project and hopefully a goodie bag too 😊
Can we pay on the day?
We would like for you to pay up-front as we need to know numbers for licences, helpers, food. Also, if I’m able to get hold of goodie bags, we would like to make certificates for those participating.
Ambulance Cover: Is a must! It is your responsibility and if you are not covered you will be wearing the costs of the ambulance assistance.
All helpers must wear a high-vis vest and also sign a form. At a later date, I will be taking a photo to show where all emergency exists are and where First Aid will be.
Peter, Brad and I will be your Level 2 First Aid helpers and will be calling an ambulance, if needed.
This coaching day is for all ages and for all levels and all styles of off-road riding!
Please Note: I will be structuring this day differently from the other coaching day we held in May.
You will be put into your correct group.
I have 3 coaches with assistants.
This property has it all: MX track, enduro track, extreme track, flat track and PeeWee track!
I will be putting up a biography of all the coaches and assistants so you know them before the day.
I have got the most laid-back bunch of coaches to work with and couldn’t be happier and hope you all feel the same.
A massive thank-you to Peta at Motorcycling Victoria, Alana at VicRoads, Stephen Tuff from Sherco, SG Hire Leongatha, and Peter Boyle Industries.
Please message Phoebe Snell for banking details so you can pay for the course – 0407 671 526.
Also, we will require a short description from you and how much riding you have done, what you would like to learn and what type of riding you like.
This will then go into a folder to help prepare us for the day 😃!
For more information please call or message Phoebe Snell on 0407 671 526.
