The Victorian Off Road Championships are moving onto Round 9 & 10 in Omeo with the weekend hosted by the Koo Wee Rup Motorcycle Club. One rider who is looking forward to the next round(s) is Brenton Naylor.
Brenton is competing in the Clubman 3 class on his Marriott’s MPE 350 XC-F where he is currently sitting in second place (only two points behind the current leader Kirby Crick).
“My last few races have been good, I’ve felt strong in my sprints but struggled in the starts of the Cross Countries but I’ve managed to keep it on the box nearly every weekend,” Brenton said.
In the same class last year Brenton fell a few points short in the last round and just missed out on a podium finish for the year.
In preparing for this years Championships and his attack to get on the podium he’s been doing plenty of work on and off the bike.
“I actually did a lot of work on a few different MX tracks to get my intensity and aggression built up.”
“I also do training for improving my strength and fitness on most days of the week.”
When asked what he enjoys about the Victorian Off Road Championships, Brenton said:
“I really like how tight the racing is this year. It seems like there’s a lot of fast blokes out there now and you can’t afford to make a mistake or you’ll be way down the pack.”
Rounds 9 & 10 of the Victorian Off Road Championships are taking place this coming weekend, the 5th & 6th August in Omeo.
