The fourth and final round of the 2017 Victorian Junior MX Championships will take place this weekend down at the Wonthaggi Motocross Track and one of the riders ready to tackle the weekend head on is Zak Sanderson.
Zak is competing in the 50cc Div 2 class and is currently sitting in third place heading into the final round.
“I finished 9th in this class last year and I was pretty happy with that as it was my first year of racing,” Zak said.
“I got off to a slow start this year in Cobram but then I had a great round at Colac, winning overall there. I finished up third overall for Rosebud as well, so I’m pretty happy.”
“Hopefully I can do well at Wonthaggi.”
Zak has been trying to ride all of the Victorian Championship tracks before each round to get an idea of what to expect when it comes time to race on them.
“I’ve attended OatesMX clinics this year at all the Victorian Championship tracks and I think Jades and his coaches have helped me to learn the tracks a bit better as I’d never ridden some of them until this year.”
When asked what he enjoys about the Victorian Junior MX Championships, Zak said:
“I love getting to see my friends and watching good riders like Mason Semmens race. My favourite rider is Callum Norton and I picked his number (#34) for my race number.”
The final round of racing for the Victorian Junior MX Championship is this weekend (Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd July) at the Wonthaggi MX Track.
