The fourth and final round of the 2017 Victorian Junior MX Championships will take place this weekend down at the Wonthaggi Motocross Track and one of the riders ready to tackle the weekend head on is Deakin Hellier.
DeakinĀ is taking part in the 125cc B Grade class and 250cc B Grade class, he is currently leading both of those classes.
“I have just started racing so this is my first Victoria Junior MX Championship,” Deakin said.
“I’ve won every race across the three rounds and hope to keep that form in the final round.”
Deakin has been trying to get plenty of time on the bike as he takes on the Victorian Junior MX Championships for the first time but unfortunately that hasn’t always gone to plan this year.
“Unfortunately I broke my collarbone during Round 4 of the Gippsland Series and needed surgery.”
“I’ve not been able to do any practice for this final round of the Victorian Junior MX Championships and have just been able to get back on the bike this week. While injured I was able to ensure my fitness and diet were on track.”
When asked what he enjoys about the Victorian Junior MX Championships, Deakin replied:
“I enjoy the Championships as its over two days so I can prepare and rest better between races. I love the atmosphere of the Championships and enjoy camping at the track with my family and friends.”
The final round of racing for the Victorian Junior MX Championship is this weekend (Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd July) at the Wonthaggi MX Track.
