DUE to the deluge of rain that has fallen across the state this week, the Harley Club of Victoria has had to unfortunately postpone this weekend’s Victorian Senior & Junior Dirt Track Championships at Broadford, September 17-18. This call was made early for those who would have made their journey’s interstate tomorrow and Friday.
This from the club:
Regretfully, the club has had no choice but to postpone this weekends Pope Building Services Victorian Senior & Junior Dirt Track Championships. With widespread constant rainfall (and flooding in parts of Victoria) over the last week the track, pits, car park, and camping areas are very WET, even underwater.
The new date for the Victorian Dirt Track Championships is To Be Announced at this stage. We are expecting to have a new date within a week.
We will refund anyone who cannot make the new date and re open entries for a short time for others to enter.
No-one is more disappointed than the committee with everything finalised already.
Please stay up-to-date by regularly checking MV’s website or the Harley Club of Victoria’s website.
**UPDATE**
THE current spell of wet weather has caused the postponement of the Pope Building Services 2016 Victorian Junior and Senior Dirt Track Championships which was scheduled for the Broadford State Motorcycle Complex track this coming weekend, September 17-18.
Harley Club of Victoria president Richard Loft said the club made the decision this morning.
“Had this been a club day just for our own members we would have waited to decide, but with riders travelling from as far away as Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Adelaide it was only fair to make the call now,” Loft said.
“There is so much water laying around that even getting into the complex at Broadford is difficult, before we even get to the track.
“In making the postponement call we weighed up all that and checked the forecast for the next few days.”
Loft added the club is hopeful of announcing a new staging date within the next few days.
