The 2017 KTM Australian Junior MX Championships took place in our own backyard over the past week. The week long event was hosted by the Horsham Motorcycle Club and rarely was there a dull moment!
With the end of the week came the crowning of new National Champions and while our young Victorian riders may not have come away with the gold in each of the classes, every single one of the riders who took to the track deserves our congratulations for the effort they and their families put in!
A special mention needs to go out to two of those young riders who took part throughout the week and finished on the podium – Liam Andrews and Mason Semmens.
Mason Semmens had a huge battle with QLD rider Bailey Malkiewicz during Races 4 & 5 on the final day to just sneak home and claim the Championship in theĀ 125cc 15 Years class. Congratulations Mason!
In the Junior Lites 13 – U15 Years class, Liam Andrews finished the week in second spot and taking home the silver. He finished 25 points behind winner Dante Hyam from NSW and held off Korey McMahon (by two points) to keep the two NSW riders separated. Congratulations Liam!
Great work by these two juniors!
Congratulations and well done, once again, to all Victorian riders who took part in the Australian Junior MX Championships – we’re all extremely proud of you!
