ALYSHA GOULLET will be competing in no fewer than three classes at the weekend when the second round of the Honda Genuine Parts & Accessories 2016 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships Presented by Bridgestone takes place at the Colac Motorcycle Club on April 23-24.
Alysha, 18, from Sunbury, will be competing in the Ladies Expert class (sitting in fifth-place), the C Lites class (where she is sitting in fourth-place), and the MXD C class (sitting in second-place).
“It’s been a bit of a struggle to get my fitness up again after completing Year 12 last year,” Alysha, from Sunbury, said.
“But it’s been good fun. I got fourth overall in C Lites at the first round at Blue Rock MC. I got a third in my first race, but then I struggled in the other two.
“I got a fifth in the Ladies Expert class and a second-overall in the Under 19s class with all consistent seconds,” she continued.
“My goal for the year is just to go out there and have fun, give it my best and try and give it another shot. I would like to go back to where I once was,” she added.
Alysha also plans on competing in the 2016 Women’s MX Nationals in Coolum, Queensland in August.
On her goals for the second round of the VSMXC, Alysha replied: “I will just try and be consistent, I reckon, especially at Colac. I also want to try and stay upright.
“I don’t mind the sandy track at Colac but it can get really technical and you can make those simple mistakes and it’s all it takes to go down.”
Alysha picks earning a second-overall in the MXD C class, against 10 other male riders, and achieving a fourth-overall in the C Lites class, against 33 other male riders, as some of her most memorable moments so far this year.
“I was pretty happy. I was nervous going into the opening round and those results kind of surprised me,” Alysha said.
