WITH the Australian Junior Motocross Championships just over a week away in South Australia, one of the riders who attended MV’s AJMXC Training Camp in Swan Hill over the weekend was Mason Semmens.
“It was great to see Motorcycling Victoria put on a school for the states riders going to the Australian titles at Renmark,” Mason said.
“The school was well managed and organised,” he added.
One of the big things that Mason took away from the weekend was the unfavourable conditions brought on by the non-stop rain in Swan Hill leading-up to the Training Camp. Saturday afternoon and Sunday saw the track in great condition but riders started the day on a very wet track.
“It was good prep as we were faced with all conditions after all the rain Swan Hill had before the weekend. I came away with more confidence in different track conditions.”
Mason was also impressed with the coaching – by Ross Beaton, Jades Oates and Mark Willingham – over the weekend and the Swan Hill Motorcycle Club.
“The three coaches gave us all pointers and things to work on leading up to the Aussies, plus we got lots of riding done which is always good!
“Thanks to the Swan Hill Motorcycle Club for hosting the weekend and I would definitely take part in a prep school like that again!” Mason added.
The Australian Junior Motocross Championships are to be held in Renmark, South Australia from September 24 – October 1.
