With Round 3 of the Airoh Gippsland MX Championships done and dusted, the leader points are definitely getting a work out as the points change from round to round.
The last round held at Wonthaggi over the weekend of the 28th and 29th April proved to be a thriller, with great track conditions and high entries!
With the generous support from the amazing sponsors, the prizes handed out at riders briefing always prove a great hit with all competitors.
Airoh Helmets, Alpinestars neck braces and body armour as well as Motorex Oils are given out at each round including $100 vouchers to winners of selected classes.
The Gippsland Regions are all about giving back to the riders so to top it off over $200 worth of tools are randomly given away each day.
Racing is always fierce over the course of the weekend with prize money up for grabs at the end of the year for senior classes.
“Our race schedule is full both days as we offer many classes and also different disciplines including the quads to attend the events giving the spectators lots of excitement to watch out on the track. With have amazing volunteers and amazing clubs to work with it helps make the events very successful”.
“It’s also great to see riders coming back out of the wood work to join in the racing and have some fun” stated chairperson Brad West.
The Girls class and Women’s class are very popular with both Jessica Robinson and Abbey Webb taking straight wins at all rounds in their classes.
Young gun Billy Pearsall is demonstrating he is one to look out for in the 65 and 85 SW as he steps it up from C to B grade and not to be outdone is both Ricky Chalmers and Ethan Ashmore as they battle it out on the track in the 125 and 250 classes.
The Demonstration class has over 20 competitors encouraging young and new riders to get out there and have a go in a safe environment.
Next round held at Blue Rock on the 16th and 17th June will be one not to miss however if you can’t make it be sure to check out the live timing whilst sitting on your couch at home at www.gippymx.com.au
