Motorcycling Victoria would like to hear from parents of junior riders, as well as the riders themselves, who are about to step up to racing in the seniors to get a first hand view of the challenges that they face in their development.
MV would also like to hear from those riders who have gone through the transition already, as well as the parents of those riders, about what they saw as the main difficulties as they moved forward.
“There is a real gap in the current development, or rider pathways, available for juniors who are progressing to the senior ranks.” MV Operations & Events Manager Mark Vallance said.
“We want to be able to provide our riders with better direction, better stability and better opportunities when transitioning from junior events to senior events.”
This is not limited to any specific discipline. MV would like to hear from a range of disciplines to not only confirm whether or not the development gap is similar across the board but so possible solutions can be introduced that cover everybody.
“This is purely about rider development and the need to continue to develop clearer rider pathways. We started to improve rider development with the introduction of the Elite Rider Training Camp and after successfully running that over the past couple of years I believe it’s time to step up our game again,” Mark added.
