Motorcycling Victoria is seeking Expressions of Interest from Clubs who would like to host a round of a new Pony Express Series in 2017.
It is envisaged that the Series will consist of two or three rounds hosted by a different club each time.
The Pony Express style enduros can suit riders of all abilities; you can team up with a mate in the Pony Express classes or take it all on inĀ an Ironman class. It is also expected that there would be classes to cater for juniors as well.
“There are a few clubs out there that already run a Pony Express style event and they do it very, very well,” Sport & Rider Development Manager Mark Vallance said.
“We still want those clubs to run their own event as they currently do, the idea of a Pony Express Series is to simply provide more of what appears to be a very popular racing format.”
Clubs will need to provide a track length that allows for approximately 18 minutes of racing per lap, marshals/sweep riders, lap scorers, other officials, canteen facilities and camping facilities (if possible).
Clubs that are interested by the prospect of hosting a round of this new series, coming in 2017, should complete an Expression of Interest Form via the link below.
The Expression of Interest Form will close on August 31, 2016.
Any questions please send them through to the Sport & Rider Development Manager, Mark Vallance via development@motorcyclingvic.com.au.
