Motorcycling Victoria would like to farewell Peta Thomas who has formally left MV after over five years of service.
Ms Thomas was employed by MV in 2011 to manage the organisation’s successful Female Participation Program as well as organise the popular Girls Only Track Days. In 2014, she became MV’s Inclusion & Committees Manager.
The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) recognised MV’s women’s program as the best in the world in November 2015.
“It has been a pleasure working with and alongside everyone that contributes to making our sport great,” Peta said.
“I leave with some really great memories and friendships and I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had and the projects that I was a part of.
“It has been so great to see our female membership grow from 2 per cent to 7 per cent and to see so many women participating in our sport in all capacities and growing as leaders,” Peta added.
“I leave as a motorcycling enthusiast, having never ridden a bike before my MV days, and I now look forward to continuing my own motorcycling journey thanks to MV,” Peta said.
MV’s current Acting CEO Rob Mestrom wishes Peta all the best for the future: “I would like to thank Peta for her valuable contribution to our sport and in particular our women’s program.”
MV’s Girls On Track Days for 2017 will still continue with Trevor Upton as the GOTD’s usual Clerk of Course and Ann-Marie Upton from the Broadford office will resume Sign-On functions.
