DINGLEY’s Joshua Linthorne is currently leading the 250cc B grade class at the M2R Helmets 2016 Victorian Junior Motocross Championships Presented by Honda Genuine Parts & Accessories after the third round took place at Ararat on the weekend of May 7-8.
Just 5 points separates Josh and second-place getter Hayden Rouse and Seth Patience sits in third just 18 points behind.
“On Saturday in Race 1 in the 250cc B grade class, I got off to a good start but unfortunately ran out of fitness and dropped back to second. It was the same thing in Race 2 and I finished second again in Race 3,” Josh said.
Josh also competes in the 100cc-125cc B grade class where he is currently third overall. “I finished second in the first race, sixth in the second race, and second in the last race. It was a good weekend,” he said.
The final penultimate round takes place at Mildura on June 11-12. “I haven’t ridden Mildura before. I’d like to win two championships,” Josh said.
The rider also plans to compete in the 2016 KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championships in South Australia in September in the 250cc and 100-125 classes.
Josh got involved in the sport when his Dad bought him a motorbike on his 10th birthday and he’s been loving it ever since. “I really enjoy it. It’s a lot of fun,” Josh said.
