BROADFORD’s Road Race Junior Development Days are back this year, with the first session taking place at the State Motorcycle Sports Complex on Saturday, January 28.
Kids, between the ages of 7 and 16 years of age, are taught the necessary motorcycling skills, such as cornering and braking, in a safe and controlled environment at the road race circuit.
The day also involves on-track learning in the morning, followed by lunch, then a theory session in the specially-dedicated Junior Development Day Room, which is followed by more on-track learning in the afternoon.
Road Race JDDs will take place at Broadford on January 28, February 26, March 26, April 30, May 28, July 22, September 17 and October 29 in 2017 for just $85.00 plus the cost of a Recreational Licence if necessary (Day – $30.00 or Annual – $130.00).
“We pride ourselves on the family-friendly atmosphere the days generate and the help that the juniors give each other. Parents are also encouraged to provide advice when they can too,” Broadford’s Administration Manager Ann-marie Upton said.
“JDDs are not always about those wanting to go racing. Some juniors come along because they want to develop skills that will make them more aware of the road when they are eventually a fully-licensed motorcycle rider,” Ann-marie said.
