ALYSHA Goullet was victorious in the MXD C Class at the final round of the Honda Genuine Parts & Accessories 2016 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships Presented by Bridgestone at Swan Hill on July 23-24.
After impressively winning two out of three races during the final round at Swan Hill, Alysha won the competitive class by 17 points over Jacob Eustace from Sunbury and Josh Cations from Werribee.
Alysha was ecstatic with her victory on the weekend: “I just tried to stay consistent throughout the whole series,” she said.
She won three races throughout the season, finished second three times and finished second overall in Round 1 and second in Round 3.
At Swan Hill, she won her first race by 1 minute, 45 seconds over Eustace and was even quicker her third race beating Leroy Drum by 1 minute, 65 seconds.
“I was lucky enough to take the win for the round which was my first time for the whole series,” Alysha said.
Alysha also finished fourth overall in the C Lites class and fourth overall in the Ladies Expert class.
“I tried to stay upright as much as I could throughout the season. The third round at Wonthaggi was probably my best round out of all four of them,” Alysha said.
“I got a third-place for the round in the B Lites class and finished in second place in the MXD C Class as well,” she said.
Alysha picked the final round of the state’s premier senior motocross competition as her highlight of the season. “I’m pretty pumped about finishing first,” Alysha said.
Her victory is extra special as her brother, Tyler Goullet, recovers from a serious injury in hospital. “He’s doing pretty well now. He’s in rehab. He told me that I had to win this weekend,” she added.
