THE Nunawading & District Motorcycle Club will throw open their gates – as well as their wallets – for a worthwhile cause tomorrow, Friday, March 25, in an effort to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Since 2010, the club has hosted their Good Friday Race Day with all proceeds going towards the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Nunawading & District MC treasurer Alison Linthorne says the club has raised up to $11,000 in the last two years. “It’s just a normal race day where riders have the chance to have a ride and enjoy the day,” Alison said.
Alison says there’ll be A, B & C grade classes on offer, as well as a 20 minute Pro event, which will also feature AMA Supercross rider Sam Martin.
The Good Friday Race Day costs $30 to enter the event online via www.cloudentries.com.au or just $50 if you pay on the day with all proceeds going to the RCH Good Friday Appeal.
The club will also be organising a raffle, with two brand new mountain bikes up for grabs, on the day.
“There’s also a gold coin donation to get in the gate and there might even be a gold coin donation to get out of the gate – we’re just doing what we can to help,” Alison said.
Sam Martin is definitely looking forward to tomorrow’s Good Friday Race Day. “It’s such a great event and a good cause and I’m behind it 100 per cent,” Sam, whose first event was back in 2013, added.
“We’re really looking forward to having a big crowd attend this year. Even though it’s still a race day everyone’s there to enjoy themselves and it’s a more relaxing day compared to your actual race day,” Sam added.
“It’s a great experience and I really would like to encourage everyone to get down there,” he said.
The Nunawading & District Motocross Club is located on Morack Road (right behind Bunnings), off the Burwood Highway in Vermont. For further information please visit www.ndmx.com.au or call Alison on 0418 318 002.
