Motorcycling Victoria will be hosting the final Girls Only Track Day for 2016 next Saturday, October 1 at the State Motorcycle Sports Complex at Broadford.
Isle of Man TT champion Cameron Donald will be back at Broadford to conduct a special one-on-one coaching sessions with two lucky ladies thanks to proud GOTD sponsor, Shannons.
Belinda Douglas, Shannons Melbourne Business Development Manager, said Shannons was proud to be able to offer this fantastic coaching opportunity for two lucky GOTD participants with Cam. “It’s fantastic that Cam has once again made himself available and that he’s such a great supporter of the Girls Only Track Days. We are delighted to announce our two winners of the coaching session are Sera Williamson and Fran Heath,” Belinda said.
On winning the special one-on-one coaching session, Sera Williamson said: “Winning the mentoring session with Cameron Donald was a total dream come true for me! I can’t wait to meet this TT and Superbike legend in person. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to learn some new skills under his wing. Big thanks to Shannons!” Sera said.
From Fran Heath: “I was ecstatic when I got the call letting me know that I had won the track experience with Cam. I think the lovely lady Belinda from Shannons probably heard me bouncing on the other end of the phone!
“This is an amazing opportunity to be given. Cam is such a legend in the riding community and a great teacher. During the last track day he ran through a few of the tipping points and corner lines with those that wanted to learn and even in that quick session I learnt so much so to be given this chance for one on one coaching from Cam I am immensely grateful!” Fran said.
Shannons is looking forward to supporting the Girls Only Track Days in 2017 and beyond. “Shannons has enjoyed supporting Motorcycling Victoria and their ‘Girls Only Track Days’ initiative and it has been a great to see so many women grow their skills and confidence on a motorcycle in the comfortable environment provided by Motorcycling Victoria,” Belinda added.
Shannons will also have a team at the GOTD and anyone that gets a Shannons Quote will go into a draw to get their entry fees paid for in 2017.
MV’s Committees and Inclusion Manager, Ms Peta Thomas, is excited for our last GOTD for the year.
“It has been fantastic that we have been able to go back to four days this year and they have all been very well supported,” Peta said.
“We are grateful for the support from Shannons this year and look forward to having them on board again for next year. The Shannons team have been a great and colourful addition to our track days and MV are delighted to be associated with such an iconic brand.
“We are so grateful that Cam Donald has made himself available for not only our competition winners but will be conducting another lunch time chat at the final GOTD for 2017,” Peta added.
“Our friends at Kawasaki will also be back supporting the GOTD and will have some great Kawasaki eye candy – perhaps even the Ninja H2 will be on display,” Peta said.
