ON SUNDAY, June 4, the Dandenong Motorcycle Club held Round 4 of the DMCC Off-Road Club Championships, the Wilhop Gully Cross Country, at Bonnie Doon.
“It was perfect conditions. The course was tight, technical, steep, rocky and off-chambered that took riders about 20 minutes to complete a lap,” Dandenong MC Treasurer Bryan Noble said.
Each rider, of which there were 17 juniors and 34 seniors, had a 2 hour Cross Country race on the course at Bonnie Doon.
For the juniors; it was Riley Nancarrow taking the win by 6 seconds over Nick Graham in second (who will be attending the MV Elite Rider Training Camp next month), and Billy McCulloch rounding out the podium.
Eli Fraser set the best lap time of 19:14.995 (for juniors).
In the senior competition Josh Major blew away the other riders to take top spot on the podium by over 2 minutes; Riley Flemming coming in second set the best lap time of the day at 19:17.641 (for seniors), and Danny Bray finished in third.

“Riley Nancarrow and Josh Major were the two standout riders on the day and each took out the win in their respective classes,” Bryan said.
“DMCC would like to extend a big thank you to property owners the Wilson, Hopgood and Bull families for the use of their land to run this round of our Club Championships.
“Also a big thank you to Scott Noble (Steward), Frank Gogol (Clerk of Course) and Justin Oakes (Clerk of Course) for their work officiating on the day.”
Sponsors of the Dandenong Motorcycle Club Off-Road Club Championships are MK1 Motorcycles and Shinko Tyres, who provide five tyres to give away to riders on the day of each round.
The next Dandenong Motorcycle Club Off-Road Club Championship round is also a 2hr Cross Country for juniors and seniors.
It will be held at Briagolong, near Stratford, on Sunday, July 2 with entries available later in June via the Dandenong Motorcycle Club website: www.dmcc.com.au.
