KOO WEE RUP & District Motorcycle Club will host a free Come & Try Day for newcomers to motorcycle sport this Sunday, March 5.
Come & Try Days are an excellent opportunity for your club to attract new riders and increase the club’s membership-base. It’s a fantastic chance to attend a day at a club so as to get familiar with your bike in your chosen discipline of motorcycle sport.
KWMCC secretary Teresa Brown is excited to welcome newcomers to a family-friendly sport. “It’s a fantastic, family-friendly club.
“We’re hoping to get a lot of people down to the club especially kids so they don’t ride illegally on the road and don’t get their bikes taken off them,” Teresa said.
“We’re big on safety. We want them to come and ride somewhere where it’s safe. Every time we open the track up we always have first-aiders on hand. There’s always someone there to help out,” she added.
Teresa’s 14-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter both enjoy motorcycle sport and she says it’s a great way for them to stay healthy and active. “It’s all about safety and getting the kids more involved and getting them off their iPads and computers,” Teresa said.
Come & Try Days also provide the opportunity for newcomers, who have never had a Motorcycling Australia licence before, to receive a free $130 Annual Mini licence for junior riders or a free $130 Annual Recreational licence for senior riders.
“We don’t want our children to go ride in the bush illegally so that’s why we’re so involved in the club. Safety is paramount. We want other kids to know that this is a great place to come and ride,” she added.
Newcomers will have the chance to experience up to five different types of motocross tracks on the day.
Koo Wee Rup Motorcycle Club is located at 335 McGregor Road, Pakenham. For more information please contact Teresa on 0409 417 996 or visit www.kooweerupmcc.com.au.
