Three clubs came together in fantastic fashion to ensure that Rounds 4 & 5 of the Yamaha Victorian Off Road Championships still went ahead after the original location was washed out by heavy rain last week.
The Koo Wee Rup & District Motorcycle Club, Motorcycle Racing Club of Victoria and Corner Inlet Motorcycle Club all worked together to put on a fantastic weekend of Cross Country and Sprints racing.
“We went from getting 40mm of rain shutting down the Three Bridges round, to Koo Wee Rup, MCRCV and Corner Inlet putting together a round at Pakenham which could be the round of the year,” MV Enduro Chairperson Chris Gray said.
“A big thank you to those three clubs and all the people that made it happen! Also to all the riders for sticking with us.” he added.
There was also some great results to come out of the weekend, none more so than Jack Simpson knocking off the Australian #1, Daniel “Chucky” Sanders, on the Sunday to win the round.
Ryley Oakes, who attended the 2015 Elite Rider Training Camp also performed well to finish in third position on Saturday and Mark Grove, also on the Saturday, picked up his first podium finish in the Pro class by finishing second behind Daniel Sanders.
With the moving of rounds this past weekend, the Enduro Committee have had to look at the calendar for upcoming rounds.
The Leongatha Motorcycle Club have put their hands up to run a Cross Country for both Seniors and Juniors on the 18th June. It will be a single day but will have Juniors 2hr Cross Country, Pro & Expert 3hr Cross Country and Clubman 2hr Cross Country.
A reminder to keep an eye on the website – www.mvorconline.com – and the MV Enduro Facebook Page for all information and Final Instructions.
Once again, a big thank you and congratulations to those who ensured this past weekend went ahead!
