Resurfacing work on the Broadford road circuit commenced on the 10th of January and our first event was on Friday 21st, at the Ride day on Saturday 22nd there was some visual deterioration of the riding surface when the track temperature was high, reaching in excess of 68c.
Our contractors asked that we not use the track until they had time to fix it as further use may cause permanent damage to the longevity of the surface. The contactors inspected the track on the Sunday the 23rd and are confident that it can easily be fixed however the machinery needed for the job was not available until this coming Saturday 5th February.
Reports from riders who rode the track on the Saturday were very happy with the surface and grip. Yes the bump at the exit has gone.
We apologise for the inconvenience to our clubs, riders and user groups for this inconvenience and cancelled events as we will also need to let the track settle for a few weeks after the repairs.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to getting back to riding and racing.
