The Ballarat Rovers Motorcycle Club is running a round of their Club Championships this weekend at their home track, Monza Park.
Club President Nick Rivett is hopeful that the increase in numbers so far this year, keeps going this weekend.
“Our numbers have really been increasing this year which is great to see. So far we’ve been getting around 50 entries but we always see people scrape in later in the week or arrive on the day,” Nick said.
Taylor Raine and Kayleigh Eastick will be running the day as the lead officials but there will be plenty of other Ballarat Rovers members on hand to assist.
Results for the day will be posted on the Rovers website and their Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/BallaratRovers/).
“As an old motocrosser myself, I enjoy watching all the riders and just love to see the sport happening on our home track.”
“I do get a real kick out of watching the young riders progress as they get more and more track time. To see what some of these kids can now do on a serious natural terrain MX track is something special.”
The club would like to thank Mick Harrington from Harrington’s Machinery Service, Ash Lang Constructions and Nash Excavations for their continued support and for getting the track to where it is today, in such good condition.
“We’ve received some awesome feedback from new members and affiliates who’ve come to recent Rovers events at Monza, so it feels like we’re definitely doing something right.”
“I also need to thank the rest of the usual suspects who open the track for practice days, help to prep, assist with the admin and help out at events. Like everyone though, help is always welcome and we’d never knock back a pair of hands to help out!”
The Ballarat Rovers generally run clubs days once a month with regular practice days for both members and non-members. The club is also looking at increasing their events for Trials, Quads and Enduro riders as their club has representatives in those disciplines as well.
Keep an eye on their website and Facebook Page for information as it happens.
