Albury-Wodonga Motorcycle Club will be hosting a Come & Try Day at Diamond Park this coming Sunday, February 5.
AWMCC President Shane Clare said he and the club always looks forward to hosting these Come & Try Days as they never fail to bring newcomers into the club.
“This type of day is the perfect environment for people to get a feel for what the club is all about,” Shane said.
“Parents of kids who are new to the sport are sometimes concerned that their inexperienced youngster will be sent out on the track amongst much more experienced competitors.
“Once we reassure them that this is not the case, and that we group the riders together with others who have their same level of experience and ability, then they become much more comfortable,” he added.
“The whole day is for these potential new members and that makes it so much easier to focus on their questions than it would be at a normal club practice or race day,” Shane continued.
“As we always do, in conjunction with our Come & Try Day, we will also be running a Kick Start Course and this has been completely filled.
“It’s another part of the process for bringing new people into our sport by giving them proper coaching in the basics and giving them the confidence to move into racing,”
“Come & Try Days are all about the future of our sport,” Shane added.
AWMCC is located at Diamond Park off the Lincoln Causeway in Wodonga and the Come & Try Day will start at 10am.
If you live in the area and ever thought about giving motorcycle sport a go Sunday is your chance!
