No we do not, you are able to keep the original copy OR alternatively you can complete your licence application online by heading to the MV website.
If I send in my renewal via email/fax, can I race this weekend?
It is possible depending on staff workload and the time of week that the application is sent in. It is preferred that there is plenty of time given to staff to process your licence, plus you won’t then be charged a $55 late fee on your licence.
Alternatively, complete your licence application online via the MV website and you will automatically be sent a temporary licence until your physical card arrives.
How long does it take to get my licence back?
It can take anywhere from one to two weeks depending on Australia Post.
For MV Practice Days, do I need a licence?
You do not need to have a licence before the day but you do need one to ride. Most clubs will allow you to purchase a Single Event Recreation Licence that you will be able to use for that day.
If you’re planning on attending more than four Practice Days throughout the year however, it could be more beneficial for you to have an Annual Recreation Licence.
This can be applied for by completing the Licence Application Form OR completing your licence application online via the MV website.
2. How to apply for an MX Rider Number: Please visit https://www.motorcyclingvic.com.au/rider-numbers/
Rider Numbers are allocated to a rider depending on how old a rider is and what grade a rider competes in.
All applications for a Rider Number are now submitted online.
Due to the incorporation of allocating Rider Numbers into the system it will take up to five working days for your number to be sent to you. Please be aware that this work is carried out after work hours by volunteers so please be patient as they assist with your inquiry.
Numbers System
Reserved Numbers: Any rider who has an expired licence of 6 months or more will lose their Reserved Number and will need to re-apply for a number once they have a current licence.

B Grade: 100-299
C Grade: 300-999
50cc: 11-999

B Grade: 250-499
C Grade: 500-999
Vets Over 35: v11-v999

Moving up from Junior to Senior: Junior riders moving into senior-level must have upgraded their current Junior National Licence to a Senior National Licence before they are able to ride within a senior class or receive a senior number. Junior riders also drop a grade when moving into the senior competition e.g. A Grade Junior to B Grade Senior.
Seeded Numbers: Numbers from 1 to 10 (Pro A Grade, Over 40s, and Women) are reserved and allocated to those riders seeded from previous Victorian Championship results. Your current number remains reserved for that time whilst you have a seeded number so you can return to it should you not earn a seeded number the following year.
2-Digit A Grade Numbers: To keep your 2-digit A Grade number you must compete in a minimum of two rounds of the Victorian Senior Motocross Championships the previous year. If you are unable to compete in the Championships due to injury, please send a copy of a medical certificate stating your injury with your licence number and current riding number so your riding number can remain reserved for you.
An email will be sent to notify riders if they have lost their number and you will need to re-apply for a new number.
