The 2018 Penrite Hattah Desert Race is nearly upon us! The internationally acclaimed event attracts a large number of riders not only from Australia, but also internationally. Riders pit themselves against each other on a course that includes; dust, dirt, mud and sand with tight corners, demanding superior rider skills including agility, finesse as well as brute speed.
With less than 45 days remaining before entries open, the countdown is on to obtain one of the much converted entries in this internationally acclaimed event!
Entries will open on the 29th of April 2018 with junior entries open at 9:00am and senior entries opening at 1:00pm. Supplementary Regulations have already been released, and can be viewed at https://www.motorcyclingvic.com.au/2018-supp-regs/.
This year up to 10 spectators can nab a VIP package. What is the VIP package? It is:
- A BYO bike, gear and fuel, privately guided tour of the Hattah Desert Race Track.
- Exclusive track viewing opportunities, to secluded action packed areas of the track that are normally not accessible to the general public.
- A Merchandise pack valued at over $400 RRP.
- A 15 minute helicopter ride over the track.
- Priority parking and unloading of your bike.
- A video of your unique experience (as you will be joined by a filming crew).
- Hot breakfast and lunch on the Sunday.

This package will set you back $1,000 (but realistically you are getting over $2,000 worth of value). All profit goes directly to the C.H.A.I.L.I.S foundation; this foundation sees all of its funds go directly to supporting ‘Children Having An Illness Living In Sunraysia’, and their families during the difficult times that both the children and the families face living with illnesses is such a remote area of Victoria.
Live streaming will also be a first for the 2018 Penrite Hattah Desert Race. In addition to a fantastic live filming feed on the big screens at the track, live timing will also be shown on the screens giving everyone the nail biting action as it happens.
